THE OPENING OF HB HOME IN WHEATLEY PLAZA

HB Home  opened its fifth Retail Design Studio at Wheatley Plaza this summer. Consistent with their other Studios, HB Home’s newest location will offer an edited selection of exclusive fabrics, furniture, lighting, decorative accessories, gifts and much more. I am so happy to see a store like this open on the North Shore, I think it will do great. They had a wonderful selection of very cool glamorous pieces.  Great color sense and style , wonderful accessories, like pillows, boxes and art .  Welcome to Greenvale!!  NEW YORK SPACES MAGAZINE hosted the opening party which Editor in-Chief Jason Kontos attended.

PAINT COLORS

When I am out and about socially, (once someone finds out that I am an interior designer) I am most always asked questions. One of the most asked question over the years is about paint colors. People always ask about a new house that they are moving into. Mostly they are in a panic and ask me what color to paint the rooms, and usually don't know where to start.
My advise is always the same. You need a starting point. Start with a beautiful rug that you first purchase, or may already have. Maybe it is a great painting that you love. It could be a wonderful pillow that you can't live without. BUT you need to make a commitment to something that you love.
Once you have that starting point, you can choose colors that work with that beloved object.

Colors that you already know make you happy and compliment your space.....At that point it's easy...   The concept for this bedroom started when the client fell in love with the linen drapery fabric. I choose the dark plum and light lavender from the drapery print....

THE BEST OF NEW YORK

I was thrilled to visit the Union Square Farmers' Market yesterday. The sounds and smells and color was just amazing.  These are colors in nature that make up great design... Summer in NY, when all the crowds leave is very special...
