Only In New York

I know it is a cliché but I have to say it anyway...  "Only in New York" I was checking out the Rockefeller Center area on Fifth Ave. the other day, when I saw these "Plastic Bag People" I guess they were trying to make a statement for Earth Day....

I also wanted to post this other great inspiration from Saks Fifth Ave. These are all interior design elements which can be used in residential spaces too. ..

SPRING IS FINALLY HERE IN NYC

Spring is finally here and people are starting to come out and renovate and decorate...
First of all, let me introduce myself.  I have been an NYC interior designer for 15 years. I LOVE what I do.  Some of the reasons are: I meet fascinating people, I constantly get to be creative, things are always changing and exciting, and the industry here in NYC is small but (like a large family)... I also get to see great design and innovation, in other words I am kept busy and on my toes at all times...

Recently, Jim Druckman the CEO and genius of 200 Lex invited "1stdibs" to open on the 10th floor of this "To The Trade" building. Now I have a whole new destination (33,000 sq.. feet) to take my clients to... here are some photos of the different vignettes.  These are vintage and antique items from around the world right at my fingertips.

I think this is so important because I truly believe ALL THINGS must be seen in person. I constantly get e mails from clients wanting my opinion on design elements. It is impossible to see the quality of something on line. I know that all our lives have changed and we all have so little time for everything, BUT seeing things in person reveals the quality, workmanship and finish. It determines whether something looks expensive or cheap. That is why I always meet my clients in person and take them shopping. It is always a collaboration, but people need to test the comfort of a sofa , or how much light a fixture actually gives off, or the scale of a piece...  This is how not to make a design mistake!

So, book a date to come shopping with me real soon, the calendar is filling up! I do not charge any commission what so ever. I am paid an hourly fee for my knowledge and experience. You  purchase everything at my net cost. ...   Let the design process begin....
